Does a rejected grievance mean I have no legal claim?

The employer's decision does not determine the outcome of a tribunal claim. Equally, a flawed grievance process does not automatically establish a claim. The underlying conduct, evidence, applicable legal requirements and deadlines need assessment. A failure to follow the ACAS Code alone does not create liability.

Is there a standard deadline for a grievance appeal?

Check your employer's policy and outcome letter. ACAS recommends five working days from receiving the outcome as an appropriate period. This is guidance, rather than a universal statutory deadline.
